KRAVET ARCHIVE COMPETITION FINALIST 2023
Initially inspired by the architecture and fabric from a previous textile research project on the Korean "Bojagi", this collection is an homage to my upbringing within a multicultural environment. This collection displays a modular and rhythmic pattern of the late 70s, mixed with the color scheme used in the ancient Bojagi used in the palaces of Korea. Furthermore, the title "Goong" is representative of the Korean word for palace, indicating its initial concept.
Initially inspired by a piece within the Kravet Archive Collection, I created a motif resembling the facets of the original idea I wanted to create. From there, I elaborated on the design through an iterative process to experiment with different colorways and shape arrangements to achieve my design. Down below are renderings of the textiles used within a space of my imagination.
